"Past, Present, + Future"
TEXT: 2 Cor. 12:14
TRUTHS:
1. It is essential for the children of God to discern the importance of using their time, energy, and talents to pour into the life and soul of others. Doing so helps us persevere in our own faith journeys.
2. There is an aspect of 'desperation' involved in our seeking of the Lord. We should desire God's presence to the point that we can honestly proclaim, "I am desperate for His presence."
3. How should we view our unsaved loved ones? We have simply been saved "ahead" of them. Therefore, we are motivated to pray for their salvation while seeking to provide a bold and accurate witness of the gospel of Jesus Christ before them.
4. The Bible is very clear about the importance of communion. Observing this sacrament should not motivated by selfish desires. We should consider our brothers and sisters in Christ when partaking of communion with the local body of believers the Lord has placed us in.
5. God always wants to do something mighty! And we can either bind it or loose it.
TALK TO EACH OTHER:
1. How does pouring into others help our personal walk with Christ?
2. What does it mean and look like to be "desperate" for God's presence?
3. Why do you think the Lord places such importance on communion? What is He seeking to communicate to His children?
4. Can you give some examples of how one binds or looses the work of the Lord? What does this truth/principle look like in the life of a believer?
TALK TO GOD:
Pray into the following areas:
Understanding communion
A sense of desperation in our seeking of the Lord
To understand the principle of 'binding and loosing'
